Hi there, I’m Adam, the Club president & Men’s Captain for TT23-HT24 and have been shooting for almost 9 years. I’m a final year of my DPhil student (Medical Sciences) but still manage to find plenty of time to train and compete, much to my supervisors’ dismay. Sam Walby, Treasurer
Hi, I'm Sam and I'm the Treasurer this year. I took up archery as an undergrad at Imperial and now I'm a 3rd year Atomic and Laser Physics DPhil student jointly with the National Physical Laboratory in London, so you'll probably only see me around at the multitude of competitions the club attends throughout the year. Amanda Liu, Equipment Officer
Hi, I’m Amanda and I’m one of the club’s equipment officers. I’m now in my second year of archery and also my psychology degree, hopefully you’ll be seeing me at most of the sessions. Bjarne Feddersen, Tournaments Officer and IT
Hi, I’m Bjarne, and I will be both Tournaments Officer and IT Officer for the club this year. I only started archery in 2022 - already in my third year of my PhD in biochemistry - but I have found the sport to be rewarding and especially enjoyed going to as many competitions as possible throughout my novice year. Expect many emails from me regarding competition sign-ups this year. The club was very successful in the 2022-2023 season and it is my hope we’ll continue to be so. Simon Heller, Coaching Officer
Hi, I'm Simon, a final-year DPhil in Medieval English Literature and the club's Coaching Officer for this year. This means that I'll be coordinating novice and experienced training with our professional coaches from the beginners' course in Michaelmas all the way to our more regular coaching sessions in Hilary and Trinity. I've been around archery my whole life, and I've been shooting bows on and off for more than 15 years now. Although I have shot recurve in the past, and begrudgingly compete in the barebow category a couple of times a year, I'm the club's resident traditional archer. You'll usually see me on the line with some sort of simple stick-and-string setup, shooting an unwise number of arrows at an assortment of random things (from tennis balls to animal-shaped foam targets). Zoe Reed, Welfare Rep
Hi, I'm Zoe, and I am Welfare rep of OUCofA this year. I've been doing archery for coming on to 12 years and competed lots as a junior, but only joined OUCofA in my first year (2019 feels like a long time ago now...). I'm now in the 4th year of my Medicine degree at St. John's, which sadly makes finding time to shoot around being on the wards even more tricky than previously (don't listen to anyone if they tell you I've chosen rowing over archery...), but hopefully you'll see me around at socials and some weekend sessions soon !! Callum Henfrey, Social Secretary
Hi, I’m Callum and I am one of the OUCofA Social Secretaries for 2023-24. I joined the club as a novice at the start of my undergraduate degree back in 2014 and have been around ever since all the way through to the end of my DPhil. I spent many years as Club President, Secretary, and now finally I have found my true calling as Social Secretary! Yang and I will be organising weekly socials for the club including a termly black tie social, so watch out for our emails!
