Varsity Results

The varsity match between Oxford and Cambridge is held in spring, hosted by each club in alternating years. The winning team is awarded the Rose Bowl, and the individual members of both teams are awarded half-blues. Novice members are eligible for a separate team competition, the winner of which is awarded the novice plate.

The current format of the match is based on Imperial rounds, where a 4-foot target face is used at each distance, counting only odd-numbered rings. Gentlmen shoot an Albion round (3 dozen arrows at each of 80, 60, and 50 yards) while ladies shoot a Windsor (3 dozen arrows at each of 60, 50, and 40 yards). The teams comprise the top four scores from each side, but must be mixed, comprising at least one gent's score and one lady's. While other bowstyles are often invited to take part in the match, only Olympic recurve scores are eligible.

Records from earlier matches are sparse. Anyone able to help fill in these details is asked to email it@oucofa.com.
